Bhopal, 04 January, 2023 – At a press conference held today, Shri Sheo Shekhar Shukla, Principal Secretary, Tourism & Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, announced the dates of the forthcoming Mandu Festival.  The 4th edition of the Mandu Festival will be held between January 07-January 11, 2023.

Speaking about the festival’s 4th edition, Shri Sheo Shekhar Shukla, Principal Secretary, Tourism & Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, said, “Over the past few years, Mandu festival has been growing in popularity. As India is set to host the G20 Summit later this year, the country will witness a surge in inbound travel and tourism. Madhya Pradesh has played a pivotal role in promoting tourism and hosting the Mandu Festival at the beginning of the year will create a unique opportunity for this part of Madhya Pradesh. To add to the fervour, Pravasi Bharatiya Divas will be held in Indore from 8-10 January. It gives us immense pride to showcase Mandu at its regal splendour to visiting dignitaries from across the globe.”

The five-day festival between January 07 – January 11, 2023, organised by Madhya Pradesh government and curated by E-Factor Entertainment is set to showcase the historical legacy of Mandu.

Speaking at the press conference, Jai Thakore, COO, and Co-Founder of E-Factor Entertainment, said, “The Mandu Festival has been gaining prominence in the country’s festivals’ calendar. We are seeing a rising interest of tourists to visit Mandu through the year. The Festival brings forth the celebration of life through various cultural activities including visit to some of the best-preserved architectural monuments and gastronomy delights. Apart from domestic tourists, we are expecting a large contingent of overseas travellers visiting Mandu from the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas.”

A vibrant city resonating old world charm, Mandu is known for its heritage, culture, architecture and paleontological history. The Festival will showcase Mandu like never before, with curated historical walks, experiential cycling tours, traditional folk arts of dance, morning yoga, culinary delights, art and craft, musical soirees and much more. The aerial view from hot air balloons will provide an exhilarating experience to discover the forts and ruins of the town while evening Maa Narmada Aarti at the Rewa Kund will add glitter to the festivities. During the Festival, one can partake in Rural Tourism Excursions that entails visit to nearby locations to explore local art, cuisine and culture. The action packed five days of Mandu Festival has something for everyone.

The Mandu Festival will appeal to both domestic and international tourists with activities like morning yoga, rejuvenating Mandu Cycling Tour and Food and Art & Craft District. The Mandu Heritage Walks and Instagram Tour, as part of the festival, highlights the city’s historic significance. The Rural Tourism Excursions will endear tourists to various historical sites of the city and a trip to monuments is bound to evoke emotions for the bygone era.

In its continuing endeavour to promote tourism in Madhya Pradesh, the state government and MP Tourism Board have undertaken various activities to showcase the beauty of the state.
